What an amazing evening for the First Stonehouse Walking Festival. Clear blue skies and sun shine, what more could you want? Well maybe a glass of wine from the Woodchester Valley Vineyard. 92 adults and 2 Children walked with the Festival team this evening from the Green in Stonehouse, along beside the railway and up to the vineyard. The Walking Festival was then officially opened by Lesley Williams our local County Councillor and the toast given by staff from the vineyard. We then continued onto the Cotswold Way and down to the canal at Ryeford. At one point along the canal a deer was spotted. We then made our way back up Regent Street and into the High Street.
Tomorrow sees three walks taking place, at 10am leaving from the public car park, there is a walk to the Stanleys via the Cotswold Way - take your own food & drink. 10.30am a Family Fun walk takes place around the green spaces in Stonehouse leaving from the APT office in Park Parade. Bring a picnic if you would like to, drinks provided with the picnic. Then at 2pm there is a History Walk-this needs to be booked. Please ring 01453 826334.
