About The Walk
A leisurely walk along country roads to Stanley Downton and across fields to Leonard Stanley where local artist Sir Stanley Spencer painted a number of local views. We will visit Church Farm Godsell's Cheese for a taster, and to also learn about the history of neighbouring buildings including the farm house, 12th c. Norman Church of St Swithun and Saxon barn. We will then continue on to King's Stanley Court Farm, and stop at ‘The Rest’ café where tea/coffee and a snack may be purchased.
Suitably refreshed we will return to Stonehouse via the Cotswold Way, Stanley Mills and the Stroudwater canal.
No dogs please.
