Walk guidelines

  • Please arrive at the start point at least 10 minutes before the stated time.

  • Please do not walk ahead of the walk leader.

  • Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear.  It is advisable to wear long trousers as some paths may be overgrown.

  • Leaders may refuse to accept participants who in their opinion are ill equipped or unfit.

  • There will be rest stops during longer walks so do bring some water, a snack and/or packed lunch.

  • On most walks public toilet facilities may not be available after the start of the walk. 

  • Please consider any health or mobility issues you may have beforehand and advise walk leaders of any concerns you may have before setting off, or discuss by phone in advance on 07756 913255.

  • You are responsible for your own safety and for determining your ability to complete the chosen walk.

  • A responsible adult must come with vulnerable people & under 18's.

  • Attendance on a walk is at your own risk. If you should feel unwell during a walk or you wish to abandon the walk, please notify your walk leader.

  • Walks can take longer than estimated e.g. large numbers of walkers, difficult walking conditions, obstacles en route.

  • We reserve the right to make changes to, or cancel walks should unforeseen circumstances arise, including adverse weather conditions or a route becoming impassable. If in doubt phone

  • Photos may be taken during walks by the walking festival organisers and may be used for future publicity purposes. Please advise your walk leader if you do not want to be featured in any photographs.
