Bridge Over the 'Missing Mile' (2024)

A 7 mile walk along the Stroudwater canal to Westfield Bridge and beyond into the 'Missing Mile' where a new canal will be constructed across open fields, passing under the M5 and joining the canal at the A38 roundabout. You will learn how plans are progressing, the key role of volunteers on the project, the engineering design challenges and the strategic benefits of the project for our communities, environment, heritage and economic development. Dogs welcome.

• Lunch break at Fromebridge Mill (Order meals in advance for 12.30pm from Greenking).
• Sample the fruit at Coneygree Community orchard, then return through fields with cattle, alongside the river Frome, past a weir & viaduct.
