About The Walk

After travelling by train to Kemble we will be walking sections of six long distance footpaths. Along the way we will come across the source of the river Thames and the southern entrance to Sapperton tunnel, part of the Stroudwater canal. The walk will then continue on and into Haley Wood, part of the Bathurst Estate before returning to Kemble for our train back to Stonehouse. We aim to be back by 5pm.

  • Hard, 10 miles
  • Please bring a packed lunch for a picnic stop.
  • Rail fare £9.30 return or £6.10 with a Railcard. NB Senior Bus Passes are valid on this route giving a discounted railfare. The train leaves from platform 1 at 9.29am and arrives at Kemble at 9.49am.
  • No dogs please.
