About The Walk

Looking at how ancient routeways made Stonehouse an important centre for travel and trade. Stonehouse had the only vineyard mentioned in Gloucestershire in the Domesday Book, and the route will include a visit to its modern successor on Doverow Hill. We will walk east along the High Street to the Woolpack Inn, along Bath Road, up Pearcroft Road to Woodchester Valley Vineyard. Back alongside the railway and down Queen’s Road to the car park.

  • No dogs please.

  • Mainly roads, some uneven possibly muddy paths, one stile. Some uphill slopes, one steep, short hill.

  • Walking shoes advised.

  • Booking required: stonehousewalks.co.uk

Walk Leader: Janet Hudson
