About The Walk
This scenic and mainly flat walk ventures eastwards through farmland and along country lanes with lovely views to Arlebrook, before crossing the railway and making our way to Standish village hall. After a hot cuppa, there will be time to visit St Nicholas Church, a 600-year-old building with beautiful stained glass windows and an impressive memorial. The return is along a bridle path, and footpaths across fields (some with livestock) to emerge by Great Oldbury and return to Stonehouse.
- 6 miles, moderate
- Meet the farmers at 'Stonehouse Milk' for a quick tour and a pint on the way back to the town centre.
- There are quite a few tricky stiles on this walk.
- Wear long trousers and waterproof boots as pathways can be overgrown, muddy and uneven.
- No dogs please.
