About The Walk

A walk along the canal to hear about old and more recent canal history as well as future plans, plus answers to questions like: Why does Stonehouse Ocean exist? Why are 8 houses called 'Newtown'? Why 'Blunder Lock'? Why are 'Forest Green Rovers' a ‘dead good team'? At Westfield Bridge we will look towards the 'Missing Mile' and see progress in the making. We return across fields beside the River Frome. This walk is relatively easy and there are no significant inclines apart from going over a canal bridge.

  • St Cyr's Church will be open for tower tours and refreshments before the walk.

  • No dogs please.

  • Booking required: stonehousewalks.co.uk
