About The Walk
After travelling to Kemble by train, we will be walking to the source of the River Thames and the southern entrance to Sapperton tunnel, part of the Stroudwater canal. The walk will continue on to Hailey Wood, part of the Bathurst Estate, and return to Kemble for our train to Stonehouse, arriving back by about 17.00.
Bring a packed lunch for a picnic stop.
Rail fare £9.70 return or £6.45 with Railcard. N.B. Senior Bus Passes are valid on this route giving a third off the rail fare. The train leaves Stonehouse at 09.29 arriving at Kemble at 09.49.
Toilet facilities whilst on the train.
