Bridge Over the 'Missing Mile' (2025)

A walk and tour of the Stroudwater canal to Westfield Bridge and the 'Missing Mile' where a new section of canal will be constructed across open fields, passing under the M5 and linking up to the existing canal at the A38 roundabout. You will learn how plans are progressing, the key role of volunteers on the project, the engineering design challenges and the strategic benefits of the project for our communities, environment, heritage and economic development. 

• Bring refreshments for a stop at Coneygree orchard.

• Return through fields alongside the River Frome.

• Dogs allowed though we may encounter cows.
